Residents of Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State spent the major part of Wednesday in confusion and fear following the abduction of Chief Inengite Nitabai, the 72-year old foster father of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Nitabai was said to have been kidnapped by heavily armed gunmen at about 3.30am at his residence. Witnesses put the number of gunmen at seven.
Details of the abduction are still sketchy at the time of this report, but it was learnt that no family member had been contacted by the kidnappers at the time of this report.
This is the second time the victim would be abducted in the last two years.
In 2014, he was abducted and the abductors demanded N500 million as ransom. They also rejected the N30 million offer from the victim’s family.
He was however released later that same year.
