A commercial sex worker, Joy Okoye was discovered dead with some vital parts of her body removed after a policeman, identified as Corporal Ahonsi Mathew allegedly threatened to deal with her in the Adeniji area of Lagos state.

A police source revealed that the deceased prostitute was Mathew’s lover even though he was married with children.

Mathew was said to have been on duty a day before Okoye’s death when suddenly, another lover of his who is also a prostitute at the same brothel with Okoye, called him to inform him that the deceased was fighting her.

Immediately after the call, Mathew who did not care to know the cause of the fight left his duty post and dashed to Adeniji to confront Okoye, according to New Telegraph reports.

Although he did not beat Okoye at the scene of the fight, Mathew had reportedly threatened to deal with her.

Things took a new turn however when Okoye’s lifeless body was discovered with some vital organs cut off which made Okoye’s colleagues to point accusing fingers on the corporal who is attached to Iponri Police Station.

The Lagos state police command had invited him for some interrogation in connection with Okoye’s sudden death barely a day after he issued her the threat.

He was thereafter arrested and detained even though he claimed not to have had a hand in the death of his prostitute lover.

The state police spokesperson, DSP Kenneth Nwosu confirmed the incident as investigation progresses.
