The Senate has concluded to confirm four presidential nominees as members of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
The nominees are Adeola Adenikinju, Aliyu Sanusi, Robert Asogwa, and Asheikh Maidugu.
On Wednesday, March 14, 2018, the upper chamber mandated its Committee on Banking and Finance to begin the process of the confirmation.
However, Bukola Saraki, the president of the Senate, gave the committee one week to consider the requests.
Senate’s action was followed by the adoption of the communication from President Muhammadu Buhari, requesting the Senate to confirm the nomination of the four appointees.
Equally, the Senate would consider confirming Buhari’s request that Aisha Ahmad and Edward Adamu as CBN Deputy Governors.
