Romans 5.3-4 “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” [/pull_quote_center]
Tribulation refers to “unhappiness, pain, or suffering” or to “an experience that causes someone to suffer.” By definition, tribulations are not things to celebrate or to be happy about; rather, they should make us sad, miserable and worried. But God says to rejoice! James 1.2-4 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
But we don’t glory in tribulations for the sake of it, we glory in tribulations because we are aware of the good things it produces in us. You know, pain is bearable when we understand it’s purpose. The Bible says that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. In other words, they make us better people. James said, that we “may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
They say that whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. You may be going through tough times; you may be experiencing pain and suffering: it’s not a time to “curse God and die”, it’s not a time to quit either; maintain a right attitude, learn the lessons, go through the process till the very end; let God use whatever you’re experiencing right now to bring out the best in you.
