John 3:17 clearly states that God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. And the beginning of verse 18 says that he who believes in Him, the Son, is not condemned.
However, the latter part of verse 18 does say, that he who does not believe in the Son is condemned already; why? because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (Jesus). And then verse 19 states specifically that, “this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
Our work then as believers, is to shine the light through preaching, and to help those in darkness to make the right decision. Every sinner, without exception, needs Jesus. No one is too sinful to be saved; no sinner is unlovable, and Jesus has already paid the price for every sinner’s sin. There’s forgiveness for everyone and it’s free! God wants every sinner saved, and He has made salvation available: brothers and sisters, no one has to perish! We must go after them relentlessly until they are saved and delivered from condemnation. Amen.
