“So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.” Exodus 20:21
God descended upon Mount Sinai, the Israelites saw the thunderings, the lightning flashes, and the smoking mountain and they were terrified. Only Moses was able to draw near to the presence of God.
It’s different for us today. Hebrews 12:18-24 let’s us know that we’ve not come to a mountain like Sinai that causes fear, but to Mount Zion. Unlike Sinai, everyone of us is free to draw near unto the Lord. It’s not only your pastor or priest that has access to God, you have the same access and right to approach God at anytime of the day without fear! Jesus made it possible. Hallelujah!
Hebrews 10:19-22 says, “Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
When you wake up in the morning, run with excitement into His presence! Not with fear, with boldness! If you have a family, lead everyone into the Holy of holies and just enjoy the presence of God for some time. Jesus made a way for everyone of us, and it’s always going to be a smooth ride in! Hallelujah!
