A 50-year-old man has allegedly battered his wife to death in Umuagbadagwo, Ikwuano Obodoukwu, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State because she refused to have sex with him.
The deceased, Mrs Emilia Ebedo, refused to give in to her husband’s demand for sexual pleasure for fear of contracting Sexually Transmitted Diseases following his adulterous lifestyle.
It was learnt that the man inflicted serious injuries on his wife and took her to a hospital thereafter where she incidentally passed away.
The warring couple’s neighbors told investigators how the duo fought through their union of 6 years due to infidelity allegations on the part of the man.
According to reports, the victim was also aggrieved at the rate with which she gave her husband money, which he usually spent on other women.
The man whose identity was not disclosed was later arrested and taken into custody after he was charged with one count of murder.
Confirming the arrest, a policeman in Ideato North Divisional Police Headquarters,said, “The suspect is cooling his heels in our custody. Police have commenced investigation into the incident and if the man is found culpable, he would be made to face the full weight of the law.”
