Things Will Happen If Dino Melaye Touches My Wife – Bola Tinubu

Must read

Following reports that Dino Melaye threatened to beat up and ‘impregnate’ a fellow senator, Remi Tinubu, wife of the All Progressives Congress’s national leader Bola Tinubu, a spokesperson of the former governor has issued a reaction on micro-blogging website, Twitter.

“Dino Malaye sunk to the lowest ever today. From this point it is downhill for him. A disgrace to the senate of the Republic”, Sunday Dare, spokesperson to Bola Tinubu wrote on Twitter on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. This tweet may be confirming that the threat to Mrs. Tinubu actually happened.

Dare followed up his first tweet with another saying that if Senator Dino Melaye actualises his threat to the wife of the APC stalwart, “things will happen”.

In the meantime, Senator Melaye issued a statement early in the morning of Wednesday, July 13, 2016, denying being involved in a plot to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari. The statement was however silent on the other matter of a threat to physically assault Remi Tinubu, a woman leader in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

Senator Dino Melaye, a fiery figure, spoke during a plenary session at the Nigerian Senate on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, saying that the federal attorney general, Abubakar Malami, SAN, should be dragged before the senate for through interrogation over the forgery charges brought against the Senate leadership. Melaye, reportedly called on senators to “fight the presidency to a standstill” and issued other threats against the presidency.

It was when Senator Remi Tinubu stood up to speak that she drew the irk of Melaye. She said that the senate should not be “reduced to a kindergarten where senators could just issue childish threats” and called for reconciliation among members of the chambers.

“I will beat you up on this floor and nothing will happen,” Melaye told her, according to SaharaReporters.

Melaye’s outburst caused commotion on the floor of the senate as several senators stood up to intervene. Some gathered round Melaye, some around Tinubu.
