A violent brawl broke out in a courthouse after a judge handed down a life in prison sentence.
The incident occurred on Sunday, when an Israeli court judge sentenced a Be’er Sheva man to life in prison after being convicted of first degree murder.
A video uploaded by Channel 10 News, showed how several family members of convicted murderer Eden Ohayon, began shouting and threatening the wife of murder victim Gadi Vichman. After several moments, the family members began beating court officers who jumped into action to protect Michal Vichman.
As we reported earlier, a man was arrested, charged and convicted of murder after killing a man because he told him to keep quiet, prosecutors in Israel said.
Now, the 20-year-old man of Be’er Sheva was sentenced to life in prison.
According to police the defendant, Eden Ohayon, stabbed 35-year-old Gadi Vichman to death after an argument broke out about teens making too much noise in front of his home. The wife of the victim, Michal Vichman, said that her husband went to confront Ohayon and his friends, who were making a lot of noise late at night, disturbing their sleeping daughter.
Ohayon stabbed Vichman with a knife and left him there to die. However, Ohayon claimed that he killed Vichman in self defense after being slammed in the head.
However, the judge in the case said that the evidence did not support the claim of self defense. Michal Vichman said he was happy with the sentence.
