A woman Mrs. Ifeoma Mbakwe, has been arrested after she scalded the body of her 9-year-old housemaid identified as Chinwedu Precious with hot water at Alagbado area of Lagos State.
Mbakwe, who hails from Anambra State, committed the act on Sunday, December 27, 2015 in her house located at Idowu Street, Alagbado.
The youths in the area were said to have caught her and handed her over to the police who arraigned her in court, according to PM News.
The victim was rushed to REM-YEMS Hospital in the area where she is currently receiving treatment.
Decrying Mbakwe’s action, a enraged resident who identified herself as Mrs. Joy Sunday, called on relevant authorities to ensure that she is prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others.
She said: “The action of Mrs. Mbakwe is a disgrace to us who are women. How can a mother do this kind of a thing to another woman’s child and at the time everyone is celebrating?”
