Woman Stabs Husband To Death In Oyo [GRAPHIC PHOTO]

The police in Oyo State on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 arrested a legal practitioner, Yewande Oyediran, for allegedly stabbing her 38-year-old husband, Lowo Oyediran, to death.

The suspect, a staff of the Ministry of Justice in Ibadan, reportedly fled the scene after committing the crime at their residence in Akobo Estate,Ibadan, Oyo State.

The mystery surrounding the gruesome murder had yet to be uncovered even though sources claim the deceased was stabbed following a domestic dispute.

Oyediran was reportedly found with dislocated shoulders, swollen head and bruised body and was taken to the hospital where she was treated and discharged after which she was arrested .

It was gathered that the deceased, who deals on property development was based in France and had returned home in December 2015 to execute a job in Nigeria, according to Punch.

The source feared that they might lose the case as the suspect worked as a counsel at the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.

The source said: “She is a lawyer with the Oyo State DPP at the Ministry of Justice. She is also the daughter of an Anglican venerable in Ibadan. As an employee of the DPP, she could truncate the case. We heard that her family is making efforts to cover up this dastardly act using the state judiciary.”

The case had been transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation for further investigation, while the corpse was deposited at the Bemby Special Hospital in the state.

The Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Leye Oyebade, had ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.

“We received the report this morning (Tuesday), but information is still sketchy. The CP has ordered a thorough investigation to determine why the suspect, who is a state counsel, allegedly killed her husband. The murder weapon has been seized by the police. We cannot say much for now until investigation is completed,” Ajisebutu said.
