The Bauchi state chief magistrate’s court 7 has arraigned an 18-year-old housewife identified as Aisha Jibrin for allegedly killing her husband, Ladan with hot water at their residence in Jahun Ward, Bauchi Metropolis.
It was learnt that her husband initially battered her which resulted to loss of a tooth based on suspicions that she went for an abortion without his consent.
However, following the assault, it was learnt that on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at about 5 pm, while her husband was taking a bath, Jibrin reportedly poured hot water on him. He was taken to the hospital for intensive care but unfortunately, he didn’t survive.
An anonymous source, who is the couple’s friend revealed that problem started for the newly-wedded Aisha when her husband heard she had an abortion without informing her husband.
Afterwards, her late husband’s, Nasiru Mohammed, alerted police officials at Dutse Tanshi Police Station about the development who nabbed her and subsequently charged her to court.
The case was presided over by a justice at the chief magistrate cout, Isa El-Shuaibu, who had adjourned the case for further hearing on Tuesday October 28, 2014.
Meanwhile, the the Investigation Police Officer, Abdulahi Adamu, revealed that she was charged with culpable homicide punishable under Section 224 of the Penal Code.
