The lifeless remains of a 42-year-old man was found dangling down a tree behind a block industry in the Adofure area of Akure, Ondo State.
The deceased identified as Ayo Boye, was found on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 by some workers at the industry who called the owner identified only as Olanrewaju.
Olanrewaju went to the office and he also saw the lifeless body after which he alerted the police of the situation.
He said, “We immediately reported the incident at a police station.”
According to Punch, the deceased came from Abuja to Akure to attend a church service at a popular prayer centre in the area.
The owner of the prayer centre, Pastor Samson Oluwamodede, denied knowing anything about the incident.
The pastor said: “There are many people that worship in my church; there is no way I can recognise everybody.”
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident.
He stated that the man’s wife and relatives had been contacted about the incident, adding that a Bible was found on the man’s corpse.
He added, “We found a Nokia handset and a sum of N2,500 on him, we found a Bible on him, but we are not certain that he came to worship at the prayer centre.”
