Onoja Boniface, a 75-year-old man, has been arrested by the Enugu State Police Command for allegedly raping an 11-year old girl.
The suspect who hails from Ogbaike, Enugu-Ezike, in Igbo-Eze local government area of the state.
Boniface who was part of those paraded before journalist on Thursday, October 3, 2019 by the state commissioner of police, Ahmad Abdulrahman, was said to have lured his victim who was reportedly sent on an errand by her grandmother to one of the staff rooms where he raped her.
According to the police, Mr. Boniface e ran out of luck as he was caught by an anonymous man, who he attempted to pay off.
The suspect confessed to the crime, saying it was an act of the devil while pleading for mercy.
However, Abdulrahman said that the suspect is already helping the operatives of the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department in their investigations.
