Abramovich Offers Mourinho Chelsea Lifeline But…

Must read

Many believed under-pressure Chelsea manager, José Mourinho will be sacked before today (Monday, November 2, 2015). It however appears that the Blues board is willing to give the Portuguese a little more time to turn around the faltering fortunes of the premier league champions.

Liverpool inflicted Chelsea with their 6th premier league defeat on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Few days earlier, the Blues were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Stoke City, a cup which they won last season. Having lost a game in the Champions League this season, the Blues are preparing for another European meeting with Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday.

For the second time season, Chelsea’s management is reported to be offering the 52-year-old their support. The only difference this time around is that Mourinho has been told to turn things around quickly. Despite Mourinho enjoying support from Chelsea fans, club owner Roman Abramovich wants Chelsea to still finish in the top four and may sack Mourinho in the summer if that is not achieved.

Already, Chelsea has been linked to big names such as Carlo Ancelotti and Guus Hiddink to take over from Mourinho on a temporary basis if the club’s free fall continues.
