Pressmen from Africa Independent Television (AIT) who were sent to monitor local government elections in Kano on Saturday, May 17, 2014 escaped death by whiskers when thugs attack them on line of duty.
The incident occurred at Gama quarters , Nasarawa local government area of the municipality following complaint on probing questions posed to officials of Kano independent electoral commission, Vanguard reports.
AIT’s operational vehicle was partially destroyed in the confusion. A brand microphone was also seized but later recovered, head of AIT crew, Mrs Ada revealed.
The police spokes person confirmed the incident saying that investigation is already ongoing and perpetrators will be arrested.
