Adamawa Governor Murtala Nyako’s Convoy Escapes Boko Haram Attack – Report

The governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, escaped attacks by Boko Haram insurgents on Friday, February 28, 2014 in Shuwa, Madagali local government area of the state.

According to reports, the attack occurred as Nyako went on a condolence visit to victims who were attacked by the Boko Haram set recently.

Eyewitness account revealed that as the governor was about to address the people, there were shouts of “they are coming! They are coming!! They are coming!!!”, referring to the insurgents. Then two gunmen in Military uniform emerged and shot three times into the air.

The place was in confusion as people fled through all directions. The governors security aides took him away immediately.

According to the source, the governor and his convoy escaped the attack unhurt.

There is no report of any casualty.
