Nigerian actor, Justin Ugonna, who was accused of grooming a 14-year-old girl and having anal sex with her deceitfully has denied the allegation.
Ugonna, in a series of tweets on Monday, December 28, 2020 has stated that he has never groomed or had sexual relations with a minor.
A 17-year-old lady called out the actor for lying about his age and having anal sex with her on several occassions back in2017 when she was only 14 years old.
The lady says Ugonna told her he was 17 when he was actually 20-years-old at the time of the incident.
Accordingt to her, she only realized the deceit when she saw him celebrate his 23rd birthday a few days ago.
Ugonna has denied grooming her saying he is open to public conversations to clear his name.
He wrote: “Hello everyone, in light of recent accusations it is very important for me to assure you of who I am and what I have always stood for.
“I am not attempting to trivialize the stories of women and men who have suffered experiences of rape and statutory rape, but because this is a criminal accusation against me it is very important for me to clarify that these accusations are not true and I have never been involved in any situation concerning grooming or sexual relations with an underage girl.
“Hey @mamiwaterr if you are open, I would love to have a conversation with you concerning recent accusations. I would also be willing to share these conversations publicly so that everyone can follow through and we can all be on the same page.”
