Tension In Bayelsa Over Senator’s Governorship Aspirations

The alleged disclosure of the Senator representing the state’s Central Senatorial District, Mr. Emmanuel Paulker of his aspirations to contest for governorship of the state has thrown the entire citizens into serious worry.

It was learnt on Wednesday, October 01, 2014 that apart from his interest in the governorship ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan’s Assistance on Domestic matters, Paulker was also after Governor Seriake Dickson’s job.

While Paulker is said to be relying on his closeness to Jonathan, Dudafa has allegedly been promised the seat by President Jonathan’s wife, Patience Jonathan, Punch reports.

However, in his bid to flaw Dickson the senator has started used his influence in Abuja especially the office of the Inspector General of Police to daunt the major supporters of the president’s Assistance on Domestic matters.

According to a source that preferred anonymity, the force Headquarters has arrested about four key supporters of Dickson from Epie Kingdom for questioning.

He further listed the names of the men arrested by the officials of Inspector General of Police which include, Obadiah John, Mr. Oborku Oforji, Raymond Manifest and Austin Sambo.

It was revealed that Paulker’s aggression was that notwithstanding that he was against the supporters of Dickson in Epie Kingdom where he hails from, he expected that Dickson’s ardent supporters would join his group but they were adamant.

“Paulker is moving against people loyal to the governor, using his influence at the federal level to get the police to haunt the men

“What is interesting to know is that these men are from his Epie clan and he has succeeded in dividing their ranks to create two factions. He is hounding the leadership of critical groups in the clan,” the source disclosed.
