BIZARRE: See The Restaurant In A Cemetery Where Customers Dine With DEAD People (PICTURED)

Must read

A restaurant in India is taking its location a bit too far, it seems.

The New Lucky Restaurant is built on top of an old Muslim cemetery and the owners have styled the interior decor of the cafe to reflect an old graveyard.

Dinners in this Ahmadabad eatery sit on tables which are scattered around a dozen old graves which were in the cemetery.

“The graves are great business,” confesses Krishan Kutti the owner of the spooky outlet. “The graveyard brings good luck. Our business has been flourishing because of these graves. It gives people a unique experience. We have maintained the graves as they were. Our customers don’t seem to mind.”

He is right. Despite the odd interior decoration, the restaurant is quite a popular hang-out spot for lovers of tea and butter rolls.

Kutti says he had the option of removing the graves and building his restaurant, but he decided against destroying the graveyard.

The staff of the restaurant have built their routine around the graves, of which some speculate belong to the followers of a 16th century Sufi saint because his tomb is nearby.

Every morning, the waiters spend some time cleaning the gravestones and decorating them with fresh flowers.

“We begin our day by paying respects to the graves. We wipe them and cover them with cloth and also shower flowers on them. It is important to respect the dead,” said Kutti.
