Boko Haram Spiritual Book Used To Make Members ‘Invisible’ Discovered

Must read

NAN – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) says it has discovered a Boko Haram spiritual book suspected to be used by the Islamist sect to hypnotize their victims.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, commandant of the NSCDC in Borno, disclosed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

Abdullahi said the Boko Haram spiritual book is written in Arabic and was discovered during an operation by men of the command at an abandoned house in Dikwa local government area of the state.

“It is sad that many innocent souls had been dragged into submitting to Boko Haram through spiritual indoctrination,” he said.

“The book, named`Guduma`, was used by the insurgents as a powerful charm to indoctrinate followers into submitting to the dictates of leaders of the sect.

“Our findings revealed that the spiritual book was also used in deceiving victims and members of the sect into believing that it could make them invisible and also offer protection against bullet shots and bombs.

“The spiritual book was abandoned by Boko Haram after the takeover of Dikwa from the insurgents, two years ago.”

The world’s deadliest terrorist group has defied defeat by Nigeria’s military. It has continued to launch daring attacks in north eastern Nigeria killing scores of people. On Friday, the terrorists opened fire on a group of mourners killing 24 people, 18 of them women, in a village in Adamawa State.
