Dele Momodu Slams Wike, Says Rivers Governor Is ‘Possessed by Demons of Anger’

ABUJA, Nigeria – Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine and a former presidential aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has launched an attack on Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, of being possessed by demons of anger.

According to a Daily Nigerian report, Mr Momodu, the governor, has remained inconsolable and sulked endlessly since losing the PDP presidential ticket to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar nearly a year ago.

As the director of strategic communications for the People’s Democratic Party Campaign Council, Mr Momodu expressed his concerns on his verified Instagram page on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, stating, “Nearly one year after he lost Governor Nyesom Wike and the PDP presidential primary election, he remains inconsolable and continues to sulk endlessly.”

In a show of support, Mr. Momodu said he would continue to offer prayers for the governor’s deliverance, adding, “As his big brother who loves him so much, I will continue to offer him prayers so that God can deliver him fully from this demon of anger.” He further noted that Wike, a hardworking man, suffers from several afflictions like many mortals, the chief of which is rabid anger.

Momodu accused the governor of being a control freak who expects everyone to bow and tremble before him, regardless of age or societal influence. He mentioned that sometimes, when God has been so kind to a man, he may begin to see himself as God, adding, “He is a control freak who expects everyone to bow and tremble before him no matter their age or influence in society.”

Referring to Wike’s attitude toward Atiku’s election loss, Momodu said, “Wike is gloating that Atiku lost the election, the process of which is still ongoing. But Wike has lost his own election since last year, and he is yet to recover.”

He also criticised Wike’s treatment of Peter Obi, who was intimidated out of the PDP, but remains relevant today, stating, “Even the Peter Obi that he stylistically intimidated out of PDP is far more relevant today.”

Momodu expressed concern for Wike’s future after leaving office on May 29, 2023, suggesting that “no one would ever trust him” in whatever position he holds, and he will be viewed with suspicion and derision. He added, “He may become the first Governor Emeritus to live in the Government House with the new Governor or move the Governor into his own Guest chalet to sign documents. It is the way the cookie crumbles. What a sad end to a brilliant career. Very unfortunate.”
