A Pensacola pastor was arrested after an investigation revealed he paid a 17-year-old boy to perform oral sex on him.
Pensacola Police arrested Aramis Betts, 25, Friday and charged him with sexual assault, obscene communication, traveling to meet a minor and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
A police report confirms Betts is the pastor of St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church in Milton. He has lead services since June last year.
The teen’s father contacted police in September when he found texts on his son’s cell phone that were sexual in nature between Betts and his son.
The victim told Detective Jeff Brown that Betts paid him $100 to expose his genitals to him.
Betts also reportedly paid the victim $500 to allow Betts to perform oral sex on him.
Betts faces several charges including sexual assault. His bond is set at $130,000.
Deacon Antonio Jackson commented saying, “As the Saint John Divine family, we are praying for the victim and his family, and pastor Betts and his family.”
