The daughter of an elderly woman who recently passed away is claiming that a pastor refused to host her mother’s funeral — and cited the deceased 93-year-old woman’s failure to tithe money in recent years as his reason.
Barbara Day claims that Fourth Missionary Baptist Church pastor Walter Houston patently refused to preside over the event for her mother, Olivia Blair, who had been sick for the past decade and in a coma over the past few months, according to KOKI-TV.
“It was like the last insult in the world,” Day told KRIV-TV. ”There was nothing else that I could do for my mommy but funeralize her in the church that she loved and worshipped all of her life, even as a little girl.”
