A 48-year-old woman, Evelyne Ndlovu, had allegedly killed her 56-year-old husband, Rhodes Maphosa, with an axe after he refused to have sex with her.
Investigations by the police in Mawaza division of Zimbabwe revealed that Ndlovu, was enraged in the afternoon of the fateful day after her husband refused to make sexual advances on her.
An argument ensued between the couple for several hours after which the woman proceeded to the bedroom to sleep while her husband who felt the rage had ended went ahead to sleep on a couch in the kitchen.
However, things took a new turn at about 2 a.m when the sex starved woman reached out for an axe and attacked her husband who was fast asleep.
Maphosa could not survive the attack as he died on the scene due to the severity of injuries he sustained from the attack.
Worldwide Weird News reports that Ndlovu told neighbours that intruders had hacked her husband to death before fleeing the scene when police officials stormed the house.
The police operatives were able to track her down two weeks after she went into hiding.
She was arrested and charged with murder and was later brought before the Bulawayo Magistrate’s Court, where she was released on bail.
