JUST IN: Police Confirms Enugu Polling Unit Blast, Says Voting Process Can Continue

The Enugu State Commissioner for Police has  CP Dan Bature has reacted to the bomb blast that occurred at a polling Unit in the state, adding that normalcy has been restored at the unit.

He disclosed to newsmen at the scene of the blast that nobody was hurt from the incident which took place earlier on Saturday, March 28, 2015.

He said, “What I am confirming to you is that there is a Honda Accord car that was abandoned and as soon as we got information we sent our special unit on Anti Bomb Squad to confirm and assess the situation there were placed improvised devices . It was safe and we had to detonate it.

“We are trying to get whatever information we can get, whatever is their motive we don’t know.

“Whoever is responsible we don’t know but what I am assuring you is that nobody was hurt.

“Everywhere is safe and election is going on smoothly. I am on routine check and we have provided adequate security everywhere and that is why I said we are on top of the situation.
One exploded and we have detonated two others. The no of the vehicle is KUJ 971 LB.”
