Louis Van Gaal Open To January Transfers But…

Must read

Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has assured fans of the club that he will be involved in the current winter transfer market if the opportunity arises.

Van Gaal however made it unequivocally clear that he is not a fan of January signings as it does not afford the players that opportunity of blending with the club and team which pre-season presents.

The 64-year-old manager’s thoughts were contained in the Red Devils match-day programme for the FA Cup third-round tie against Sheffield United which comes up on Saturday, January  9, 2016.

“January brings the opening of the transfer window and, as I have already seen, we have been linked to a host of players.

“I don’t see January as the ideal time to do business as the players cannot then have the pre-season that I feel they need to be integrated into the squad, both on and off the pitch.

“However, if I and the coaches feel that something can be done to improve the current squad then that is something we will look at if the opportunity does arise,” Van Gaal explained.
