A student of Community Secondary School in Alor Uno community of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State identified only as Ebuka, has attacked a classroom teacher for punishing his girlfriend.
The teacher was said to have sustained a deep machete cut on the head following the attack from the enraged student who reportedly planned to kill him.
It was gathered that the student vowed to deal with the teacher whose name was only given as Ike for punishing his girlfriend.
According to Daily Post, Ebuka who was acting under the influence of alcohol and hard drug was said to have armed himself with a machete hidden under his cloth, beckoned on the teacher to come closer.
The teacher who suspected that there was a problem attempted to escape but was engaged in a hot chase
by the student who later caught him inside one of the classrooms.
But for the timely intervention of some students and teachers of the school, Ebuka would have sent the teacher to his early grave.
He was later handed over to the police while the teacher was rushed to a private hospital where he is currently receiving medical care.
While in police net, Ebuka regretted his actions which he said was unintentional.
He rebuffed the claims that he intended to kill the teacher explaining that he was only trying to teach the teacher some lessons for punishing his girlfriend.
The aftermath of the case has not been disclosed as the police has not released an official statement in that regard.
