Pius Adesanmi, a Nigerian-born professor teaching at Carlton University, Canada, was killed in the Ethiopian Airlines crash of Sunday, March 10, 2019. He was a popular columnist and social and political commentator.

‪Saved from bad Nigerian roads,‬

You didn’t experience oppression yourself,‬
But you spoke against it at every given opportunity.

‪But you spoke against our oppression and persecution. ‬
