ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has launched its online application for the 10th regular course cadet degree program, according to an official statement on Monday, July 24, 2023, from Police spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

The registration process, which started on the 24th of July and will end on the 3rd of September 2023, will be open to both male and female Nigerian citizens who wish to serve the nation.

Adejobi outlined the criteria for the candidates, stating that they must be of Nigerian origin and have a National Identity Number, NIN, along with a Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, result of at least 180 marks.

They must also have selected the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil as their first choice on the JAMB form.

Further academic prerequisites include six credits in at least two sittings in WAEC/NECO or equivalent, with credit passes in English and Mathematics.

Applicants must be between 17 and 21 by 31st October 2023 and meet physical, medical, and psychological fitness standards.

Minimum height requirements are 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females, with a chest measurement of at least 86cm for male candidates.

Prospective students must not be married or pregnant at admission and must provide a valid email address and phone number.

In terms of the application process, Adejobi explained, “All interested applicants who meet the criteria above are advised to visit the Academy’s website, generate Remita Retrieval Reference, RRR, code which would be used to make payment of a non-refundable fee of N3,500 through any commercial bank branch in Nigeria.”

Once payment has been confirmed, an online form will be available for applicants to complete, requiring upload of scanned copies of SSCE results, birth certificates, and state of origin certificates.

Successful candidates will then be invited to a physical screening at the Nigeria Police Academy, with further details to be communicated later.

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has pledged transparency and accountability during the selection process, while also cautioning applicants about potential fraudsters.

“He advises the applicants to be wary of online imposters, scammers, and other criminal elements who might want to take advantage of the application process to dupe innocent applicants,” Adejobi cautioned. “The IGP, however, warns that anyone found wanting in this regard will be arrested and prosecuted.”

The cadet degree program combines a five-year academic curriculum with police training, culminating in a Bachelor’s degree and commission into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendent of Police II.
