Ohaneze Ndigbo Lauds President Jonathan, Congratulates General Buhari

Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo on Thursday, April 2, 2015 sent a congratulatory message to president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari for his victory at the presidential polls.

The group also hailed President Jonathan for his statesmanlike gesture in conceding defeat, adding that the group has not shifted on its call for the implementation of the 2014 National Conference recommendations.

Speaking on behalf of the president of the group, Gary Igariwey, was the Ohaneze Ndigbo Secretary General Joe Nworgu who enthused thus: ”Ohanaeze congratulates Jonathan for his statesmanship in the just concluded election.

“We congratulate the APC candidate,now President-elect on his victory. Ohanaeze thanks Ndigbo for harkening to their call to vote for the PDP candidate,President Jonathan.

“Ohanaeze stands on the plank that informed her election decision. That is, restructuring of the country by the use of the 2014 Confab resolution.

“We hope the incoming administration will not ignore our aspirations.”
