The April Fool’s Day which was marked on April 1, 2015 didn’t end as planned for a 17-year-old girl who tried to pull a fast one on her boyfriend in a bid to trick him.
Hayleigh McBay from Elgin in Mora, Scotland, thought it would be quite fun to prank her boyfriend David but the guy on his own part gave her a surprising reply.
She told him on Whatsaap social media platform that she was fed up with the relationship and needed a break.
She said, “I don’t want to be with you anymore. I’m not happy.”
In return, and to the least of her expectation, she got a reply that looked more serious than she ever imagined.
David said, “Thank God you said it first.”
Surprised, she asked McBay asked her boyfriend if he meant what he said for real and he affirmed.
She immediately took to her Twitter and said, “Well, my April Fools backfired and added photo of herself and her boyfriend to it.
David again, took to his own page and wrote, “Thank god you said it first,’ and admitted he didn’t want to be with her either.
The girl was gradually becoming worried before she was made to understand that it was all a joke too and finally, it was her boyfriend that got her on the whole April Fool’s stuff.
McBay tweeted that her smart boyfriend was just playing a game all the while. It was really awkward but thankfully, it all ended well.
She said, “Just to clarify me and David did not plan that but he guessed it was April fools so jokingly replied, sad that I have to specify that lmao.”
