A man (name withheld) is currently in the intensive care unit of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakiliki (FETHA) after he reported to the hospital after allegedly being raped anally by his assailant identified as a 26-year-old man named Lawrence Anyigor.
The victim who hails from Effium community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was said to have bled profusely after the attack and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Daily Post reports that Anyigor, a native of Benue State who lives in Effium, where he committed the crime, reportedly invaded the house of the victim at about 1:30 am on March 1, and raped him through the anus.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP George Okafor, confirming the incident to newsmen on Sunday saying, “On March 1, 2016, there was a report from Effium Police Station that one (name withheld) reported that at about 1:30am, one Anyigor Lawrence of about 26 years from neighbouring Benue State but who resides in Effium community, Ebonyi State unlawfully had anal knowledge of him through the anus without his consent.
“The victim is currently on admission at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, FETHA and investigations are ongoing,” the PPRO stated, adding that the suspect was in the custody of the police.
