It’s not a message I would normally preach, but whether I preach it or not will not alter the truth: brothers and sisters, even though we love, and we forgive, and we do not avenge ourselves, it doesn’t mean that people are free to do whatever they wish to us and go scot free; no. It would have been better for us to avenge ourselves, but it’s God Whose responsibility it is. The Scripture says that it is right for God to pay back the ones making trouble for you with trouble! That makes it terrible for whoever does evil to us, because it is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the living God!
Nabal repaid David evil for good and David was very angry and was going to kill Nabal; he and his men took their arms and were heading to Nabal’s house when Abigail the wife of Nabal intercepted them and wisely talked him out of it. She asked him to leave vengeance for God instead of staining his hands with blood. To cut the long story short, the next morning, Nabal’s heart failed inside him, and he became like a stone. About ten days later, the LORD struck him, and he died.
The most dangerous people to hurt and maltreat are Christians! For those of you who have been hurt, God wants you to know today that He will fight for you. He knows what was done to you, and it’s time for Him to repay all those who have done you harm. So shall it be! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
