Female University Student Kidnapped, Abductors Demand N50 Million Ransom

Khadijat Isaiq student of Kwara State University, KWASU, Malete was abducted on Sunday, August 22.

Isaiq, the 300L Mass Communication student, was abducted at her hostek at about 9pm.

The abductors, it was gathered ferried her away in a vehicle.

A university said the kidnappers had contacted the university for a ransom of N50 million.

Reacting to the incident, the university KWASU spokesperson Abdulrazaq Sanni, said the student was abducted along Okoru Road in Malete town.

According to Sanni, the school authorities have swiftly responded to the development and are working with the relevant security operatives to secure her release.

He also said adequate security had been provided on campus.

Kwara Command’s spokesperson Ajayi Okasanmi said effort would be exerted to rescue the victims.
