A thief was involved in a ghastly motor accident during his escape bid with a stolen motorcycle on Thursday, October 1, 2015 along Abu King Shuluwa road, Makurdi, Benue State.
A report by Benue.com, disclosed that the thief who disguised as a passenger, flagged down a motorcycle rider and asked to be taken to Tse-Ayihe, a suburb on the outskirts of Makurdi.
However, on arrival at his destination, the thief forcefully snatched the motorcycle from the rider and fled with it.
It was gathered that some other motorcycle operators gave the suspect a good chase after an alarm was raised of his deeds.
During his escape bid on a top speed, the motorcycle thief crashed into speed bumps and was badly injured.
Rather than feel any pity for him, the angry mob descended on him and battered him blue black before they subsequently handed him over to the police.
