Must read

Two married women are currently in hiding after the two were caught having sex in the home of one of them in Agidingbe in Lagos on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

According to an eyewitness who spoke with The Trent, the two women, Jacinta and Mercy were having sex in the former’s home when her husband’s cousin showed up at the house unexpectedly.

“Jacinta’s husband had taken their children out and Mercy came visiting,” a community leader, Moses Ajayi told our correspondent. “The two women, from all indication used her house as a love nest.”

“But on this Saturday, a cousin of her husband, Susan Anenih came visiting. She knocked at the door and heard nothing from inside. But Susan who had lived at the residence before knew other ways of entering the house. She turned round to the kitchen door at the back and was able to gained access. She walked through the kitchen down to the living room to check if there was anyone home, when she met the two women having sex, naked in the living room.

“Susan began shouting, raising alarm. She stormed outside the house shouting that an abomination had been committed in the community,” Mr. Ajayi narrated.

According to Ajayi, an angry mob had gathered seeking to ascertain what the women had done and possibly attack the lesbian women for “bringing curses” on their community for their “ugly act”.

By the time the community members had mobilized and stormed the apartment, Jacinta and her lover had hurriedly dressed up and escaped.

“Woman-to-woman sex, man-to-man sex is not allowed here,” a community leader, Chief Kayode Mustapha told our correspondent. “We frown on this kind of behaviour because it brings bad luck on the entire community and by law in this country it is a jailable offence if found guilty”

Chief Mustapha disclosed that there are traditional rites that the women must undergo to “cleanse the land”.

“The person who commits such a sacrilege must be flogged, paraded naked in the community. Also, they have to perform traditional rites involving animal sacrifice and incantations,” the local chief, known as baale, told our reporter.

Ms. Anenih who briefed the mob on what she witnessed in the house said that lesbianism was outlawed even in their home community and she vowed to take this news to the extended family. “She cannot be our wife anymore,” she declared.

The women were reported at the police station. When contacted the public relations officer of Lagos State Police command confirmed that there had been a report of married women having sex in a home in Agidingbe.

“The women are at large and a warrant has been issued for their arrest,” Mr. Elkana confirmed to The Trent by text message. “Effort is being made to apprehend them.”

Attempt to reach the two married women failed as their phones were switched off. At the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the two women remain unknown.
