2 Policemen Jailed For Collecting N800 Thousand Bribe

Two policemen have been imprisoned for demanding and collecting bribe from a suspect involved in a criminal matter.

Sergeant Alih Tenimu and Corporal Salawudeen Abubakar, both with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Kwara State Command, Ilorin got three and two years  imprisonment respectively for violating the provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

The two men collaborated with one Amodu Adamson (now deceased) to collect bribe of N800,000 from one Bello Manisara to close a case of criminal breach of trust, and threat to life, being investigated by them.

Both police officers are jailed without an option of fine.
