Governor Fintiri Signs N163.6 Billion 2022 Budget

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has assented to the 2022 state budget passed by the House of Assembly.

The ‘Budget of Sustainable Hope’ was signed on Friday, December 31, 2021, at the Government House, Yola

The budget, a total sum of N163,629,910:40, is the result of legislation by the state House of Assembly on an Appropriation Bill earlier presented to the Assembly by the members of the state House of Assembly by Governor Fintiri.

The budget has N98.8 billion, representing 60 percent as recurrent expenditure while N64.7 billion, representing four percent, is allocated to capital expenditure.

According to the budget, the state government will spend N21 billion on urban and rural roads while the plan to reduce housing deficit in the state will be sustained by ensuring the completion of an ongoing 1,000 housing units project.

The government, according to the budget, will also as a matter of priority complete the resuscitation of existing fertilizer blending plants to commence production, among other projects.

Officials at the budget signing ceremony included the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Aminu Iya Abbas, some members of the Assembly, and Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Malam Bashiru Ahmad.

In his remark after signing the budget, Fintiri thanked members of the State House of Assembly for speedy passage of the budget.

He also thanked members of his Economic Team as well as the media for being supportive to his administration.
