A 29-year-old bride has refused to go down the altar with her husband except he paid for a boob job – and yes, she actually had her way and the wedding went on hitch-free.

Brave Meryl Clarke from Leicester struggled to come to terms with her drastic weight loss after a severely overactive thyroid saw her drop seven stone in just six months, according to Mirror UK.

Clarke’s boyfriend, Luke Clarke popped the question on New Year’s Eve in 2013 and she was so devastated due to her drastic weight loss from 20 stones to 13 although, she did well to accept the proposal.

She Meryl, said, “When Luke proposed I was happy but I imagined I’d be walking down the aisle smiling on the outside but not on the inside.

“Even just wearing normal clothes I had to put socks in my bra and pull my tights up to my armpits and I couldn’t do that in a wedding dress.

“My body didn’t bother Luke he’s seen me at my biggest and my smallest and he loves me the same.

“But I wanted a new body for me, he hated seeing how it affected me.

“For me my body is now perfect – to have breasts again is and have the sagging skin removed is amazing.

“It’s given me so much more confidence. I’m constantly holding my new boobs, I can’t believe they’re there.

“Clothes now fit properly and shopping for underwear has been amazing.

“Before the surgery I considered getting prosthetic breasts sewn into my wedding dress so to have walked down the aisle with my dream body in my dream dress was an amazing feeling.”

It was gathered that Clarke developed problems with her thyroid gland in 2004, where an operation to remove it left her constantly gaining or losing weight.

By 2013, she had managed to keep her weight at a healthy size 8, but the damage to her body had been done.

She said, “People probably think it sounds great going from a size 20 to a size eight but it drastically changed my body.

“I was left with flabs of skin hanging from my tummy, arms and legs and my boobs were like empty flaps of skin, they were awful.

“I spent many days crying myself to sleep because my body was literally eating itself.

“I had the body of an old woman, my boobs were like empty flaps of skin, I looked 80 from the neck down.

“I had no breast tissue and this large apron of skin, if I ran it would make a clapping sound.

She failed in a bid to get the surgery funded by the NHS, so then contacted Linia Cosmetic Surgery to find out just how much her surgery would cost and Surgeon Azhar Aslam agreed to do it for £6,000 against the usual £13,000 out of sheer benevolence.

Clarke planned to raise the money to pay for the operation herself but as an early wedding present for his new bride-to-be, the groom agreed to stump up the cash for a tummy tuck and surgery to take her AA boobs to a DD.

After a successful boob job that left Clarke with the mass of body she so desired, the bride finally tied the knots with the man of her dreams at a ceremony in Rothley Court, Leicester, in May 2015.

It was learnt that she would soon undergo a surgery to have some more excess skin removed from her stomach in time for her to wear a bikini for the first time during their honeymoon in July, 2015.

Clarke said, “When I went to Linia and met with Dr Aslam and they offered to do the surgery at a reduced rate, it was incredible.

“And then Luke offered to pay for the surgery, it was like a whirlwind, I’d got to the point where I thought this was never going to happen.

“When I walked into the church Luke was grinning and very close to tears, it was such an emotional moment.”
