Court Remands 4 Men For Stealing 16 Heavy Duty Generators

A Gusau Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of four men, Murtala Abubakar, Abbas Abubakar, Danladi Abdullahi and Habib Ibrahim, for allegedly stealing 16 heavy duty generators.

The Prosecutor, Cpl. Dalhatu Zaphania told the court that between January and August, the accused persons criminally conspired with three security guards attached to Fortknos Guard to commit the offence.

He said that the accused persons stole 16 heavy duty Mikano generators and back-up batteries, worth N30 million at Kaura Namoda, Zamfara state.

The prosecutor said that five out of the 16 generators were later recovered from the accused persons.

Zaphania said that the offence contravened Sections 6 and 1 of the robbery and fire arms act.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The Magistrate, Alhaji Umar Abdulnasir ordered that the accused persons should be remanded in prison custody.

The case was adjourned to Dec. 22 for further mention.
