Lassa Fever Kills Doctor In Nasarawa

A Medical doctor, Ibrahim Oshafu, was reported dead after treating a patient with Lassa fever in Dalhatu Specialist Hospital (DASH) Lafia, Nasarawa State capital.

This was confirmed to newsmen by the chairman Medical Advisory Committee of the hospital, Dr. Edego Egba.

Oshafu, who has been buried according to  the Islamic rites was among the members of the rescue team at the only state owned specialist hospital, DASH.

This brings the death toll in the state to two while several others have been hospitalized and placed under watch mostly in Lafia,

Oshafu’s demise prompted his colleagues at DASH Lafia to join the ongoing strike action aimed at bringing the plight of medical doctors to fore with hope that the government will intervene.
