Woman Storms Her Own Funeral After Husband Paid To Have Her Killed (PHOTOS)

A man felt like the ground should open up and swallow him when his wife stormed her own funeral ceremony after he hired a team of hit men to kill her.

The BBC reported that the man, Balenga Kalala paid the men to kill his wife of ten years, Noela Rukundo, while she returned to her native Burundi in early 2015.

The couple who had three children, met 11 years earlier and fell in love after Kalala arrived in Australia from Burundi.

The gunmen released Rukundo with a memory card of the conversation between them and her husband, and had deceived Kalala that they had killed her.

Rukundo confronted her husband on Sunday, February 22, 2015, the day scheduled to be her own funeral ceremony after she spotted him with his hands on his head as a chief mourner.

She said: “When I got out of the car, he saw me straight away. He put his hands on his head and said, ‘Is it my eyes? Is it a ghost?” and she replied: “Surprise! I’m still alive!”

Narrating the ordeal on Thursday, February 4, 2016 Rukundo recalled how he touched her shoulder to find it solid. He jumped and started screaming and apologised to her and said, ‘I’m sorry for everything’.

After the confrontation, the utterly disappointed woman alerted the police immediately who came and arrested Kalala.

He was sentenced to nine years imprisonment on Friday, December 11, 2015 after pleading guilty for incitement to murder.
