Victor Chukwu (also known as Victor Kwesi) is a budding fashion designer who was born some 22 years ago in Abia State. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education Psychology from the University of Port Harcourt. Kwesi owns the fashion line, E’zee Couture, that celebrates African fashion. He has carved a niche for himself through vivid transformation of the Ankara wax prints into fashion heaven. In this interview with The Trent’s Chidinma Unigwe, the current Mr Tourism Nigeria Continental 2014, shared his views on some topical issues including his style and inspirations.

I am Victor Kwesi by name. I am a fashion designer, fitness model and an entertainer and currently Mr. Tourism Nigeria, Continental 2014.
What are your academic achievements?
I’m a graduate of Couselling Psychology from University of Portharcourt and also a certified health and environmental safety officer, interior dec0rator and event planner.
What are your hobbies?
Travelling, swimming, playing soccer and dancing.
What is your take on travelling?
Travelling has bin a major hobby for me as experiences are lying waste everywhere yearning to be tapped. And no better way can this be done if not travelling. I have experienced cultures, beliefs and different perceptions of life through travelling and it has greatly imparted my fashion design.
What inspired your passion for fashion?
It has bin quite an experience of cultures thanks to my traveling. During the course of my traveling. It dawned on me as to the rate Westernization is wiping out cultures. I sort ways of helping preserve these loss of cultures.
And what better ways can people express their culture other than fashion?
Fashion is one of the major ways people express their cultures and also lose it. filled by this conviction of increasing loss of cultures, my little love for fashion was fueled into passion. Trying to use fashion to preserve our African culture in fashion. This gave birth to E’zee Couture which is waxing strong.
What is your fashion style?
I call it “Urban Charm”. I try to fuse the African culture with the so called new school in fashion, so people don’t get bored or fill left out in what is trendy in fashion.
What areas have you traveled to?
I have been to quite a lot of places, let’s just say I have been to all geopolitical zones in Nigeria, including Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic to mention but a few.
