A 29-year old Nigerian man based in Brooklyn, Massachusetts has been accused of raping a 21-year old woman at a gas station around his neighborhood on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
According to police reports, the suspect, identified as Samuel Okorie, was arrested on Sunday, September 7, 2014. He was booked on charges which included rape, kidnap and robbery.
Reports states that Okorie had grabbed the victim’s cellphone, pushed her into a nearby bush and sexually assaulted her. He later dragged her back to his home where another sexual assault took place.
Police said the victim attempted to escape many times but was stopped by Okorie.
When she eventually managed to get away, she ran up the street, crying for help before a kind neighbour took her in.
Neighbours said she was screaming ‘help me, help me’. When a neighbor approached her, she said “he raped me, he’s coming to get me.”
Meanwhile during investigation, neighbors were surprised at such show of behavior from Okorie whom they described as quiet and friendly.
He has since been arrested and is in custody at the Allegheny county jail. His bail is set for $150,000 and a hearing has been scheduled for next week.
