Salary Anger: Osun Workers Beat Up 2 Journalists

There was drama in Osun State on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 as civil servants in Osun State beat up two journalists who were covering negotiations between them and representatives of the state government.

According to reports, the journalists – Abass Okandeji of MITV and Adeniyi Folorunsho of ONTV – who were at the meeting which was held at the government secretariat, Abere were mistaken for members of the state owned Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC).

The workers were seriously injured and had to be rescued by Ismail Afolabi and Abdullah Afolabi of Heartbeat Magazine  and some officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The pair were immediately rushed to a clinic within the government secretariat while a report was made at the Ataoja Police Station.
