SO SAD: 6 Shot Dead In Lekki Armed Robbery Operation [GRAPHIC IMAGES]

No fewer than six persons reportedly died following the deadly gun duel between a group of police officials and a gang of armed bandits in the late hours of Thursday, March 12, 2015 on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos state.

The robbers reportedly raided a bank at Lekki phase 1 and attempted to escape through the link bridge to Ikoyi when they met the policemen leading to the shoot out.

While some terrified motorists abandoned their cars on the bridge and scampered for safety, some unlucky persons lost their lives.

The lifeless remains of a female victim was seen covered up at the scene in the pool of her own blood.

Another police officer who was also killed during the encounter was also pictured in the pool of his own blood beside a police van at the scene.

In the meantime, there has been no official confirmation by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu as regards the actual number of casualties recorded in the incident .
