A woman, Adele Barber has finally opened up today, Monday, February 2, 2015 to share her story a year after she had bitten off the tongue of a strange man who sexually assaulted her.
The man had his tongue severed after he locked his mouth in Barber’s in his bid to kiss her during the assault on the street in United Kingdom.
She said she preserved the tongue inside her mouth in order to get a vital DNA evidence to reveal who the attacker was.
She said, “I thought I’m going to make sure this person gets the treatment that they need.
According to Metro UK, Barber was on the way home from a doctor’s appointment in January last year when a man brushed against her in the street. She didn’t take it seriously initially until the same man ran up behind her, pushed her against a wall and began to sexually assault her.
In her narration, the brave mother said, ‘He tried to kiss me and forced his tongue in my mouth.
‘I thought this has left him vulnerable, I’m just going to bite down as hard as I can and it will show it’s not consensual in any way shape or form, get as much DNA as I can and try and cause enough pain to get this guy off me.’
She took a step further to scratch his face several times in order to get more evidence for the DNA test.
She ran back to the house with the tongue still inside her mouth and immediately called the police before she informed her husband about the incident.
The woman who was sexually abused ten years ago lost the case due to lack of enough evidence and delay in filing a report to the police.
This was what prompted her to demand her pound of flesh this time around from the strange man.
With the help of the evidence, police were able to get a DNA match and the strange attacker was nabbed and taken to a psychiatric ward indefinitely.
Happy to have ensured the man was brought to book, Barber advised people who would go through assault someday to always ensure they fight back if they have enough strength.
She said, ‘If you can, fight back as much as you can, get as much evidence as you can and get to the police as quickly as you can.’
The unknown pervert was convicted and jailed last week.
