Celebrities are the focus of attention 24/7 so they need to find ways to chill out and relax away from the prying eyes of the public. One recreational activity celebrities choose is gambling. Here is a selection of the most famous celebrities that love to gamble.

One man who has pushed the envelope when it comes to their personal life is former Two and a Half Men star Sheen. The man who made his name from acting in movies such as Platoon, Hot Shots, and Wall Street experienced a car crash lifestyle in full view of the public gaze. His drug use, sexual relationships, and alcoholism all played a role in his life spiralling out of control but his addiction to gambling has also been noted a major contributing factor to Sheen going off the rails.

A Hollywood A-lister who takes his gambling very seriously is Oscar-winning director and actor Affleck. The man who is currently earning his money by playing Batman was mentored by poker professionals Annie Duke and Amir Vahedi in the early 2000s to sharpen up his card game. He went on to win the 2004 California State Poker Championship which saw him win £356,400. In 2014, Affleck was banned from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on suspicion of card-counting.

Ray Romano

The Everybody Loves Raymond star is held affectionately in the eyes of many but underneath the warm-hearted exterior is a man whose lust for gambling has sometimes pushed him too far. Romano has claimed that he gained inspiration for his role as Joe Tranelli in Men of a Certain Age through his first-hand experience of gambling. Fortunately, that dark chapter appears to be in the past and Romano can now be seen regularly at the poker tables across US casinos.

Tobey Maguire

As the man that plays Spider-Man, it seems that there is not much more Maguire can achieve in life to better that accolade but ever since 2004 he has been an ever-present face at the professional poker tables. After being tutored by poker legend Daniel Negreanu, Maguire appeared at the WSOP Main Event Championship in 2005, 2006, and 2007. It has been alleged by poker icon Phil Hellmuth that Maguire has won over $10 million playing poker in private games across Hollywood. With these legends and celebs apparently they all learnt the ropes of winning big from online casino gaming it doesn’t happen overnight for them – gaining experience and strategic skills is what makes them win big!

Floyd Mayweather

It makes absolute sense that the man nicknamed “The Money” would be present on this list and legendary boxing champion Mayweather makes for a worthy inclusion. Mayweather frequently brags about his big money bets when it comes to major sporting events. In 2014, it was alleged that the undefeated boxer bet $13 million on Denver Broncos to win the Super Bowl. Just one year later he staked $350,000 on a basketball and boxing 4-fold to win $827,272. Only a matter of weeks later he won $271,000 betting on the Golden State Warriors in basketball. Not a bad track record.

Any individual that has a website dedicated to their most outrageous bets had to be included on this list. Rapper 50 Cent has long been running his mouth about his big money bets. His biggest bet came when he bet $500,000 that his favourite American Football team New York Giants would win Super Bowl XLVI against San Francisco 49ers. The Giants sealed a 21-17 victory to win their first Super Bowl since 2008 and earn a huge profit for “Fiddy”.

Pamela Anderson

Iconic Baywatch actress and supermodel Anderson has flown close to the wind with her controversial stories which include her notorious sex tape with ex-lover and rock musician Tommy Lee but it is her gambling tales that also raise eyebrows. Anderson has admitted that during one poker game she found herself $250,000 down and the person she owed said he would clear the debt in exchange for sexual favours. She agreed and there began one of Hollywood’s most illicit stories. However, “Pammy” has also become synonymous with her presence at the slot machines.

Jennifer Tilly

Being the boyfriend of a professional poker player must make it hard to stay away from the poker tables and in the case of Liar Liar, Monsters, Inc., and Family Guy actress Tilly it has seen her actually make the transition to becoming active on the actual tables. The partner of poker pro Phil Laak, and Oscar nominee even went on to win a World Series of Poker bracelet when she prevailed victorious in the $1,000 Ladies No Limit Hold’em event taking home $158,335 in winnings. She has also been crowned WPT Ladies Night Champion, CardPlayer Best Celebrity Player of the Year, and WPT Bellagio Cup Champion.

Allen Iverson

Former NBA basketball player Iverson has never been entirely open about his involvement in gambling but the fact he loves a flutter is one of the worst kept secrets in sport. In fact, it is rumoured that Iverson’s gambling habits became so intense that he was officially banned from gambling at any casino based in Detroit after his gambling debts spiralled out of control.
