Spirit And Life Devotional: Sanctified And Preserved

Must read

Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

Sanctified means set apart, declared holy, consecrated, purified, and free from sin. Sanctification is from the Greek word, hagiasmos, meaning holiness or separation. And to be preserved means to be kept.

Every child of God is sanctified and kept. Look at what Jude wrote, we were sanctified by God, and preserved in Christ. We can look at it from different perspectives. When Jesus was praying to the Father, He said, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17. And 1 Corinthians 1:30 says, “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.”

It’s not something that we are struggling for, it’s what we are! And it’s something that we are to always be conscious of. If God has separated us from sin, we should no longer live in sin. We must detest sin and always live a life of holiness. Again, the Bible says that God is able to keep us from falling (Jude 1:24). In other words, we are not left on our own to struggle to live right; we have the grace and support of God. If we are determined to live right His grace is sufficient for us. Amen.
